Quick Guide on How to Use loomp

Create and Annotate Content

Open the editor and double click the title bar of the window to change the title.

Write or paste your text in the main area of the editor.

Start to annotate entities by selecting the dedicated text part and choose an annotation set of your choice from the ribbon toolbar. Then click on the appropriate annotation.

In the dialogue the system will recommend existing annotations if they match the selected text string and the type of the chosen annotation. Either choose one from the recommended entities or create a new one by clicking the button (in this case you can add a description to your new entity). Confirm your annotation with ok.

Search and Filter Elements

The loomp API provides functionalities to retrieve elements depending on lables of entities (character strings) or annotated types.

Faceted Views in the Demo

When you access the current loomp demo, you can also visualize loomp documents in you browser. We implemented a simple mechanism to add facets that highlight content parts with reference to annotations.
